Join us this evening for a delicious multi-course, sit-down dinner prepared by the Best Chefs and restaurants in the Bay Area!

The "Great Chefs of the Bay Area" is a fun evening featuring fabulous food from some of the best chefs in the Bay Area.  It will be an evening to remember.  Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Clear Lake Symphony and Scholarship Fund.

Thanks to each of you who attended the Great Chefs of the Bay Area Fundraiser on May 5, 2011 and making it a big success.  By far, it was the best of all the years that it has been held.  The food was outstanding, a wide spectrum of Silent Auction Items were available to bid on and everyone enjoyed themselves.  There was about 150 in attendance and we hope to see you back again next year as well as some new faces.

If you were unable to come and would like to make a tax deductible donation by credit card, please use the on-line reservation form and note in the comments section that you are making a donation.  We will accept donations through the end of May 2011.

FLAVORS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN
  
Cheerful umbrella-covered tables dot the tree-shaded patio bustling with NASA workers and area devotees of Magdy and Sonia Kotb's homey Mediterranean café. Inside, a deli case filled with feta cheeses, imported olives and fresh-made menu items shares the cozy space with a few dozen tables and a market area for European imports. The menu features classic Greek and Middle Eastern dishes including hummus, stuffed grape leaves, shish kebab, baba ghanouj, moussaka, gyros and hearty lunchtime sandwiches.
The cafe also features frequent live music performances and in-house belly dancer every Saturday evening.  The market is a great spot for deals on imported Greek olive oils, gourmet chocolate and hard-to find spices sold in bulk.

About the Chef
Super Chef Andrew is a second generation Thai Chef. Andrew and his family moved from Bangkok in 1984. His Father, Gil Lobeck has been a long standing fixture in Seabrook... His father opened Bay Thai in 1990 in Seabrook and brought his culture to this community. Andrew went to work for his father when he was twenty and learned a great passion for making people happy with food. In 2004 Gil retired and in January 2005, Chef Andrew decided to follow in his father footsteps and opened in the same location but as "Merlion". On September 11, 2008 Ike washed Merlion away, leaving nothing but it's sign behind. In February 2009 Merlion was resurrected two streets over from it's original location. Andrew has a unique love for making exquisite food. He has taken his dad's great traditional Thai Food and put an American Fusion Twist on it to make it his own.

● The upstairs banquet room with large balcony is environmentally perfect for groups of 12 to 45 people.
● The Old World ambience & charm of Casa Mia, the banquet house adjoining the restaurant, is an ideal setting for your party. The courtyard-patio with outside bar is a favorite gathering place. In inclement weather the massive fireplace in the great room is warm and inviting.

Frenchies Restaurant opened in 1979...

Frankie & Giuseppe Camera brought over their recipes and experiences from the Isle of Capri, Italy and introduced them to the Houston community.  Ever since then, their food and restaurants have become an icon in the Space City.

Frenchies has a very mom & pop setting, and when you walk in you feel like you are part of the family with their warm welcomes and aromas that will take you back to a generation when your grandmother cooked all day.

Their food consists of large sandwiches on their signature baked bread, also used for the garlic bread, pasta with homemade sauces and topped with everything from meatballs to jumbo gulf shrimp, fresh everyday.  They specialize in great and hearty meat dishes including osso bucco, which will melt in your mouth.  You can finish up your dinner with homemade desserts and cappuccino!

Opened by the Camera brothers in 1979, it is not unusual to find many of the same families, and now their married children with their children, dining at Frenchies several times a week.

Frankie & Giuseppe grew up in the hospitality business. Their father was an important, well loved, manager of a hotel restaurant on the beautiful Isle of Capri off Naples, Italy. The boys, as children, worked in the hotel kitchens, gaining experience from the ground up. Today they expect the same, or more, attention to detail form their staff as they learned from their father.
